Our team at Tetra are protected by our laws that are of a much higher standard then Fair Trade. We cut the cotton, process the filling and put it all together in our Sydney factory so we know it is Sweat-Shop Free.
The Tea Tree bark is wild harvested and collected from the tree by hand. This is an extremely manual (and costly) method that honours the habitat and individual tree. When the outer layers of paperbark are removed it promotes new growth that betters the overall health of the tree. The tree is not cut or felled. The paperbark regrows in cycles of 5 to 7 years, a short-term by natures clock, and is later re-visited for more bark collection.
Tetra comes in a range of GOTS Organic Certified cotton (unbleached and cream in colour). We do also make a range in non-organic cotton (white in colour) that is stocked with retailers and not for sale at our online store.
